A workshop entitled “Developing scientific research in Libyan universities: opportunities and challenges towards achieving sustainable development.” With the participation of the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED)


Within the framework of disseminating the IBTIKAR Project, a workshop was held this morning on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the International Cooperation Office of Zawia University to discuss scientific research priorities in Libyan universities. The workshop, titled “Advancing Scientific Research in Libyan Universities: Opportunities and Challenges Towards Achieving Sustainable Development,” witnessed active participation from the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), the National Program for Excellence in Science and Technology at the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, the Libyan Center for Solar Energy Research and Studies, and the Master’s Program in Renewable Energies at the Faculty of Engineering, Zawia University.
Throughout the workshop, participants deliberated on the challenges and opportunities in the field of scientific research related to renewable energies. As a result, crucial recommendations were formulated, which will be integrated into a comprehensive report to be submitted to the relevant authorities. The overarching goal of this report is to enrich and propel research efforts in this vital sector.
